Swisher Guts & Empty Fifths

The Swisher Guts And Empty Fifths E.P.

Hey folks…I’m droppin’ a new CD, The Swisher Guts and Empty Fifths E.P. right around the corner:

This CD has been a long time in the making. Which is slightly misleading, considering I tend to equally slack off and get overworked for various periods of time. But regardless of that, I’m at least content with the fact that neither you or I had to wait another 2 years for something new to be released.

Swisher Guts and Empty Fifths is different than the work I’ve done before. I know in the past I was very dark, depressed, etc., due to the fact that I was living in that state at the time. Don’t get me wrong, sarcastic ass negative Luck is still on this album, he’s just visited by a few other personalities this time. I’ve gone through more ordeals and dilemmas in the recent years, as I’ve come to understand will probably keep happening until the day I die, and realized that the best solution is to find the positive side or the humor in it. (Then record a song and make it snazzy!) Secondary to that, I realized that making music can be fun too, instead of a bloody purge of my inner demons every time. I’m not a beat poet god dammit! So, the end result is an album that has a different edge to it than you might be used to.

This album has guest appearances by a ton of talented local artists who I am lucky enough to call my friends as well as co-conspirators in the massive plan I have embedded in my brain nugget. I departed from my unwritten “One Guest Appearance” rule (party cuz the guests always retire shortly afterwards) and decided to let all the homies have fun, like Snoop told me to. The compilation tracks are some of my favorites. Abel Abilities, DJ Abraham, Doujah Lounge, Elements of Style, Fritzo, Kung Fu Vampire, and Pacoe The Illiterate all bring their heat to this album to give it that extra lil something it needed.

And the Producers! Oh the producers!

I decided this time around to open the doors up to a variety of producers, and to really pick beats that matched the direction I wanted to go in. That was actually one of the most time consuming periods during making this album, the time taken hunting down beats. But the end result is something I’m happy to present, a variety of music and flavors that not only match the message, but dutifully entertain the ear as well.

You can find music from Counter Productives’ Skylar G, Marcus (E.O.S.’s beat smith), Massive Intelligence, Knock Chompa, Jo “Guss” Salinas, Journeyman, Freematik, Digital Hustle, and Bad Luck on this album, all working together to bring you a nice mix from a variety of talented ass people.

But what does it all mean?

Well, Swisher Guts and Empty Fifths is the place you are when you’re down and out, but looking up and forward. It’s the time spent smoldering before actually lighting a fire under my ass and making shit happen.

The Swisher Guts and Empty Fifths EP is the history and definition of what makes me who I am today: hungry, dedicated, focused, and razor sharp. With no plans of stopping.
I’m having a CD Release party when I get back in town from the Say Hi To A Stranger Tour. It will be at Voodoo Lounge in San Jose on Sunday, July 27th. I’m doing a presale special. Per-order your CD today and get a free ticket to the show (A $20 value.) Email me at LuckyLucianni.com for more info.

Thanks for all your continued support. I’ve said it before and will say it again: I can’t do it without you. And for that I’m eternally grateful. Thanks.

PEACE

Lucky Lucianni

Ps. Not to turn a genuine expression into a bad joke, but buying a CD is a wonderful way of saying “You’re Welcome.”
